Course Description

This course explores the biblical and modern significance of Israel in God’s redemptive plan, emphasizing the nation’s central role from ancient times to the present day. The sessions begin with a personal testimony of Bishop Michael Utterback's calling in 1982 to "marry the people and land of Israel." This call led to a lifelong mission supporting Jewish immigration to Israel, particularly after the fall of the Soviet Union, and providing humanitarian aid through various support centers across Israel.

The course delves into the ongoing conflicts in the region, focusing on the 2023 Hamas attacks, Israel’s defense against terrorist threats, and God’s protection over the nation. The geopolitical struggles are seen through a biblical lens, highlighting spiritual warfare and Israel’s place in prophecy.

Key themes include the miraculous nature of Israel’s existence, the unique calling of the Jewish people as God’s witnesses, and the historical persecution they have faced. The course also examines the spiritual battle between good and evil, with Satan's hatred of Israel being a central focus, and touches on the theological significance of Israel's land and Jerusalem, which are described as set apart for divine purposes.

Through biblical prophecies, such as those in Isaiah and Revelation, the course underscores the importance of Israel’s restoration, which began with the nation’s re-establishment in 1948. Christians are called to support Israel, both practically and spiritually, as this restoration aligns with God's ongoing work in preparation for the return of the Messiah.

The course concludes with a focus on the role of both Jews and Gentiles in God’s plan, highlighting the inclusion of Gentiles through Jesus Christ while maintaining the unique priestly calling of the Jewish people. Through prayer, practical aid, and spiritual alignment with God's promises, Christians are encouraged to embrace their connection to Israel as part of God's ultimate plan for humanity's restoration.

Bishop Michael Utterback

As Bishop Michael Utterback, I am teaching this course to share the profound journey that God has taken me on regarding His calling for Israel. Since 1982, I have experienced moments of divine revelation that have shaped my understanding of Israel’s unique role in God’s redemptive plan. This course is an opportunity to explore the significance of the Jewish people, the land of Israel, and our responsibility as believers to support their restoration and well-being. Through my personal experiences and the unfolding events in Israel, particularly the ongoing conflicts and humanitarian needs, I aim to deepen our collective understanding of why we are called to stand with Israel and actively engage in God's work within this sacred context. Ultimately, I believe we can fulfill our calling to be witnesses of God’s promises and support the miraculous return of the Jewish people to their homeland.
