Course Description

This course, Faith and Finance: Building a Kingdom Legacy, equips pastors, church leaders, and believers with the tools to align biblical stewardship with practical financial strategies that empower individuals, families, and congregations. Across eight transformational lessons, Leland Rubin blends spiritual wisdom with over two decades of financial expertise, showing that faith and finance are inseparable partners in building God’s Kingdom. The course begins by redefining stewardship as both a spiritual and financial discipline—teaching that education, encouragement, and inspiration are the foundation for lasting prosperity. Participants explore key challenges facing the church today, including retirement insecurity, debt cycles, and the lack of financial education, and learn how to apply biblical principles such as Proverbs 13:22 (“a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children”) to modern financial realities.
Each lesson builds practical and spiritual momentum. Learners discover how churches can become centers of empowerment—teaching members to protect their families through living benefits, wills, and trusts; to break free from debt using tools like the Personal Financial Review; and to move from stability to surplus by mastering principles such as the Rule of 72 and tax-advantaged index strategies. Rubin introduces innovative church-based models such as Beneficiary Programs and the Church Bank, showing how congregations can create long-term sustainability and fund ministry growth. Additional lessons address generational wealth through child-focused investment plans (The Million-Dollar Baby), and the importance of trust, transparency, and continuous financial education within the body of Christ. The course concludes with Kingdom Impact at Scale, where learners apply seven stewardship principles—from financial literacy to generosity—to strengthen their church’s capacity for outreach, leadership support, and legacy-building. By the end, participants will understand how to steward resources wisely, cultivate abundance, and create a ripple effect of financial empowerment that blesses families, churches, and communities for generations.

Leland Rubin

As Senior Vice President of Global Financial Impact, Leland Rubin teaches this course because he has witnessed firsthand how a lack of financial education has weakened families, ministries, and entire communities of faith. For more than two decades, he has worked with hundreds of churches, observing a consistent pattern—good people with great faith struggling financially simply because they were never taught how money truly works. Rubin believes that stewardship is not just a spiritual principle; it is a Kingdom mandate. Proverbs 13:22 reminds us that “a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,” and that inheritance begins with wisdom, not just wealth. This course was created to bridge the gap between faith and finance—to equip pastors, leaders, and believers with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to move from survival to surplus. Rubin’s passion is to see every church become a place of empowerment where members are financially strong, families are protected, and the Kingdom of God is advanced through wise, faithful stewardship.
