Course Description
The objective of this course is to familiarize church leaders with the basic concepts of church insurance and acquire an understanding of the complex nature of church insurance contracts. Some of the typical mistakes in church insurance contracting are discussed in this course along with recommendation for robust church contracts. All church leaders should take this course due the importance of church insurance for healthy church operations.

Meet the instructor
Dennis Watkins
I am Dennis Watkins, Legal Counsel for Church of God, where I have served since 1994. I teach this course on the subject of “Insurance for Churches” because I consider a basic understanding of church insurance as a vital need for our pastors and church administrators. There are many other subjects in the church legal field that could be addressed, but I see familiarity of this subject as a crucial means of risk management in everyday church operations. My goal is to increase basic understanding of the foundations of church insurance and of its importance.
